His father, Yozan, was a potter and one of Tokoname's leading glaze masters. His products are mainly small and medium-sized glazed items up to about 50 cm. Round pots are basically made on a potter's wheel, and other bonsai pots are made using molds. The molds are cast thickly and then re-carved by himself. His work is diverse, including cat-leg feet, painted pots, and unglazed pots, with some pieces being close to one-of-a-kind productions and others being mass-produced.
