His father, Yozan, was a potter of bonsai containers and one of Tokoname's leading glaze masters. His products mainly consist of small and medium-sized glazed items up to about 50 cm. Round pots are generally made on a potter's wheel, while other bonsai containers are made using molds. The molds are thickly cast, and he re-carves them himself. His works are diverse, including pots with cat's paw feet, painted designs, and various clay colors, ranging from unique, one-off pieces to mass-produced items.
