His father, Yo-zan, was a potter and one of Tokoname's leading glaze masters. His products mainly consist of small to medium-sized glazed items up to about 50cm. Round pots are generally made on a potter's wheel, while other bonsai containers are made using molds. The molded items are thickly cast and then re-carved by Hideaki himself. His diverse range of products includes pots with carved legs, painted pots, and clay-colored pots, encompassing both unique, one-of-a-kind pieces and mass-produced items.
