Bonsai Pot, Yozan-made, Medium size, approx. 37.5cm long, oval pot, glazed, as-is, used pot. Real name: Hideaki Shimizu. His father, Yozan, was a potter of bonsai containers and one of Tokoname's foremost glaze masters. His products are mainly small to medium-sized glazed items up to about 50cm. Round pots are basically made on a potter's wheel, while other bonsai containers are made using molds. The molds are thickly cast and then re-carved by hand. He creates a wide variety of items, including cat-leg pots, painted pots, and mud-colored pots, with some being close to one-off productions and others being mass-produced.
