Bonsai pot, Tokoname, made by Kazuhiro (Ikkō), Watanabe Kazuhiro. Small, approx. 17.2cm long axis, oval pot, glazed. Current item, used pot. Real name: Watanabe Kazuhiro. He trained under his father, Watanabe Shōzan, while researching glazes, and began firing small bonsai pots around 1978. He primarily creates glazed bonsai pots and glazed suiban (water basins) using the tatara (slab-building) method. His glazes are diverse, mainly including Oribe, Kin-yū (celadon-like glaze), white Kōchi, yellow Kōchi, and lapis lazuli glaze, with various intermediate shades. He is a Tokoname bonsai container artist who creates pots and suiban, from small to large, in various earth tones. While the artist's name is read "Kazuhiro," it is commonly read "Ikkō."
