Snake Scales Liverwort ( Conocephalum conicum )

Snake moss has broad leaves, leathery, dark green, slightly shiny, 5-10 cm long and 1-2 cm wide, and the pattern is very similar to the skin of a snake. Dioecious. The male receptacle is oval and purple; the female receptacle is conical and brown-yellow. There is an involucre on the underside of the receptacle, and there is a bract in the bract.

Snake moss is also found in other parts of Europe, North America, central and eastern Asia. It mostly grows on wet gravel and soil in the understory beside streams.
