Water bamboo is native to India and Indonesia, cultivated in all provinces of China, and widely distributed south of the Yangtze River basin, making it the most common wild bamboo species in that region. It is also a common plant in the Yellow River basin and areas to its south, often found along riverbanks and in valleys.
Try to maintain 4-6 hours of light daily; reducing light appropriately can slow down water bamboo growth. For potting soil, choose sandy soil and lay a layer of coarse sand at the bottom of the pot. For semi-hydroponic setups, plant near flowing water.
Note: Water bamboo leaves have a fast metabolism. It is normal for some slight wilting upon receipt, which does not affect normal growth. Simply trim as needed.
