Snake-patterned Blue Forktail Betta (Macropodus sp.)
They mostly live in shallow waters such as mountain ponds, rice paddies, and springs, feeding on invertebrates. During the breeding season, the male fish blows bubbles to create a nest, where it collects the eggs. The male fish also exhibits nest-guarding behavior. They are small in size, and due to their vibrant colors and the males' pugnacious nature, they are well-known ornamental fish.
