It often inhabits oyster shells, stone crevices or mangrove roots in estuary areas. They are omnivorous and feed mainly on algae and zooplankton. They can be fed pellet feed and frozen red worms in artificial breeding. It is an extremely cute ornamental fish and very easy to keep.
