When raising vampire crabs, the reasons for failure are usually related to environmental, dietary and water quality management. Here are three common reasons for failure:
1. Improper environment settings
Devil crabs are semi-terrestrial creatures and need to be raised in aquatic and terrestrial tanks. Many newbies often keep them in traditional aquariums, which leaves them lacking a suitable habitat. The ideal water-land ratio is 70% land and 30% water, and it needs to provide enough hiding/dodge space and an appropriate amount of plants (such as moss, ferns, etc.) to simulate its natural habitat.
2. Frequency of water changes
If there are plants in the tank, change the water every 2-3 weeks, if there are no plants, change the water more often!
3. Mixed culture ratio
Very small tank: one male to one female or two males are dangerous ratios! It is recommended that the minimum size is 20X20CM, and you can raise 2-3 crabs.
